a journey of journalling

Tip 15 of our mid-year Grateful in April project, a Journey of Journalling, is a prompt to think all about gratitude and the senses.

Take some time to appreciate the things you see, hear, smell, taste and touch that bring you joy. Take a moment to look around you and appreciate the beauty of the world. Write about the things you see that make you happy, whether it’s a stunning sunset, a beautiful flower or a work of art that speaks to you.

Listen to the sounds around you and write about the things you hear that bring you joy, whether it’s the laughter of loved ones, the sound of birds singing, or your favourite song playing on the radio.

Breathe in deeply and appreciate the scents around you, whether it’s the smell of freshly baked bread, the scent of a loved one’s perfume or the fragrance of a blooming flower.

Savour the taste of your favourite foods and write about the flavours that bring you pleasure. Whether it’s a sweet treat, a savoury dish, or a refreshing drink, take time to appreciate the tastes that make you happy.

Finally, take a moment to appreciate the sense of touch and the physical sensations that bring you joy. Whether it’s the feeling of a warm hug, the sensation of sand between your toes, or the texture of your favourite blanket, write about the things you touch that make you feel good.
