Making the choice to be happy and have gratitude is not only healthy, but it can improve our performance and ability as well. Gratitude has numerous health benefits that extend to physical and mental health. Cultivating gratitude can be challenging, especially in a world filled with negative news and social media, but it is worth the effort. Research shows that feelings of gratitude can lead to a more relaxed state, improve hormone balance and immune function, decrease rates of disease and improve overall wellbeing. To cultivate gratitude, we can keep a daily list, write gratitude letters, perform acts of kindness, keep a gratitude journal and post reminders.
