Day 12: Grateful for sound choices

You know how a song comes on the radio and suddenly you feel differently? Music has the power to transport you to a time, a place or a feeling in an instant.

Try developing a playlist of songs that made you feel happy or motivated or peaceful. You can play them whenever you need – at home, in the car, while exercising and even to start or end the day.

Even drowning out negative noise can be beneficial. Sometimes you don’t consciously notice the ever-present thrum of background noises in your life – take note of the various sounds around you and see how you feel when you replace them with music of your choice.

What goes in one ear will impact what is going on between the ears, so take control. If music isn’t your thing, you can listen to audio books, motivational messages, podcasts, comedy albums, learn a language, listen to poetry, all while you are on the move or tied to another task like cooking, cleaning or a repetitive job.

Right now you can choose to be hearing what you want to hear and it’s all good!
