I am most grateful for my friends and family who I know I can count on for anything. I am also always grateful that somehow my wife, who comes from across the world, found me and is the centre of my life.

I’m grateful that I live in a place and time where I am able to use my skills and experience to pursue a career and life that makes me happy. I know that this is an enormous luxury and not something everyone in the world is able to share.

When I think about what I’m grateful for, I often try to put little things in perspective. Something as small as getting to sleep in a few extra hours, or having a really good piece of fruit are things that I sometimes take for granted, but many people in this world do not have. When it’s something larger like getting a big job that will pay the mortgage for a few months, I try to keep this cued up in my mind for that time a few weeks later when I don’t have work coming in, so I can remind myself of the things that are going well.
